Turkey Hand Cookies

Ben came home for lunch yesterday and Joseph tells him he wants to make "turkey hand cookies". at first Ben had no idea what he was talking about but soon figured out that they had showed how to make them on Noggin. Next thing I know they have made hand shaped sugar cookies. Ben had to go back to work so I finished the decorating part it was fun, and they turned out pretty cute! Joseph and I get to do stuff like this all the time so it was cool for Ben to do it with him. What a great Dad!!

Also posted a picture of the "YO Gabba Gabba!" Halloween costumes! So fun!

Well, here we are!

So its true what they say, about every kid being different! I love both my boys so much and having 2 kids is so busy! Joseph and Dallin are getting along great so far! I heard allot of horror stories of siblings attacking the new baby and I'm very thankful this has not been the case. Joseph is very concerned when Dallin cries but he doesn't dare touch him when he is crying.
This picture was taken on the day of Dallins blessing. Ben was also ordained a High Priest and put in the bishopric that day, so it was a special day for us.
Summer has been very busy for us we spent last week with my side of the fam and this week we are going camping with Ben's side. Joseph has a "McQueen" fishing pole and is very excited to use it. I love watching him experience life's little joys it makes me happy.

One week old today!

The first week has gone by so fast! Dallin is doing great he is very healthy. He has the longest toes I've ever seen, he weighed 7lbs 13 oz and 20.5 inches long. We are so glad to have him join our hapy little family. I am feeling much better than I did a week ago and even 2 weeks ago. Ben went back to work today and I miss him, but i know I was very spoiled to have him here all last week. Joseph seems to be adjusting well to having a brother so far... We bought him a baby boy doll that makes noise and wiggles and pees and he likes to show it off and change its diaper over and over. I think this has helped him feel like he knows whats going on a little better. and when he wants to shove things in Dallins mouth I can tell him to put it in his baby's mouth not Mommy's baby's mouth. He is pretty fascinated by it all at this point I hope he doesn't start to get jealous. Thank you friends and family for helping with Joseph bringing meals and just being excited with us! We love you all!

Wait for it... wait for it...

I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster right now! I had a plan in my head of when and how this baby would come. Plans have changed many times, I'm not complaining i just like having a plan. Our original due date was May 23. We wanted to be started a week early, and then I dilated from a 2 to a 3 in a week and I have been really sick for the last week. Our doctor said she would be surprised if we made it through the week and she told us to go to the hospital as soon as we are in any kind of rhythm with contractions or if my symptoms get worse. (headache, nausea, insomnia, lightheaded, swelling etc.) We did go to the hospital last week because of these symptoms and the baby is fine. We are 38 weeks.
With Joseph I had a lot of consistent contractions but minimal dilation. This time i dilated quickly but i have not have very good steady contractions. We have all been on edge this week wondering if something will happen or not. Joseph had strep throat and pink eye in both eyes this week as well, he is doing much better and hopefully he wont be sick when he meets his brother! We are so excited to meet our new our new baby and every day is important for his health, he is worth waiting for! however Our Doc is out of town Thurs, Friday, Sat. Sooo... I really need my body to make something happen in the next couple of days! that's a lot of pressure!

The Zoo!

Yesterday we met our friends Jon and Jessica Eyre and we went to the zoo! They brought 3 yr old Grace and 1 yr old Caleb. We had a great time! Of course we played our odds against the rain and we did well, it didn't start raining until we were on our way out. When we got to the carousel, Joseph picked the "roo." I didn't know he even knew what a kangaroo was! He had so much fun! He wanted to ride it all day. I think maybe the giraffes were one of his favorites. He tried very hard to climb in with the turtles, I was surprised they were so huge! Joseph was so amazed by all the animals I love watching him experience new things in his little life. We had a great day and it was great to spend some time together.

Family Jazz night!

After a long week of not being able to be together as a family, all 3 of us had a chance to go to the Jazz game last night! Joseph has never seen anything like it in his little life. He was so cute, we were on row 10 so it was up close! He learned how to cover his ears when it got too loud. And his favorite song was the "DE-FENCE!" chant he would dance every time. I bought him a Jazz mini basketball and he is very proud of it. He keeps pointing to the Jazz logo and telling me all about the bear. Because Goldenwest was the sponsor we got to go down on the floor after the game to shoot baskets.  Joseph ran around the court tossing his basketball and calling plays.  It was really funny.  We took tons of pictures with BenJoe and Joseph on the Jazz bench, all of us on center court and Joseph trying shoot a basket.  The Jazz beat the rockets by 8 points and we got to see President Ukdorf. It was a great family outing and a great chance to introduce Joseph to the Utah Jazz!

Here are some pictures of the game:

Birthdays!

February is a fun month at our house because Ben and Joseph both have birthdays. Ben's is on the 5th, which fell on a Thursday this year which is one of the days we don't even get to see him. so we partied on Friday. We went to lunch together and then I surprised Ben by kidnapping him. He thought we were just going to dinner and a movie which we did and then we checked in to the Hilton. He was very surprised. We had to laugh at ourselves because we were in our room at 9:00. So we went to another movie just because we could! It was great we were so relaxed the next day we didn't get anything done. I just love spending time with my awesome husband!

Joseph turned 2 years old on Feb 9Th. I invited a few of his friends over and i hope they had fun. I figured something simple would entertain 2-3 yr old so I wanted to make a bean bag toss game out of a cardboard box. But then being the great dad that he is Ben comes in with this huge board with perfect bean bag toss holes in it and I was thrilled!! The kids all got to take home a bean bag. Joseph loved being the center of attention and acted a little extra spoiled the rest of the day. how did he know you are allowed to do that on your b-day? We got him a play kitchen that took Ben over 2 hours to put together. He is growing fast sometimes I can't believe the things he does. We have been trying out the toddler bed and one night he was very restless and we did our bedtime routine and as soon as i left the room. He turned his light on and started playing, so i went in and told him he needed to get back in his bed or I would put him in his crib. We did this 2 more times and then on the third time when I went in he looked at me and just hung his little head and walked over to his crib like he knew he just couldn't focus tonight and gave up. I laughed all night. He is so stinking cute!!

Potty training!

So Joseph will turn 2 next month and 4 months later... well, 2 sets of diapers. So i am considering training Joseph now. He likes to sit on the potty now and put toilet paper in the hole and has peed twice. He is taking his own clothes off and he tells me when he poops. I think he is ready but I've never done this before. So if anyone has any tips for me especially for boys that's great. Has anyone tried the 3 day approach? I'm open for ideas.
